Variations of hot and sour soup can be found throughout southeast asian cuisine. In fact it is even very popular in western countries like the USA as well. I have been asked many times to make a video on hot and sour soup but I took lots of time because I wanted to come up with a recipe that will not disappoint you. This recipe is really easy and the soup tastes amazing! I hope you will all like it. Please have a try and let me know what you think.

Hi,
What is this “fungus” you are using? Is it a kind of mushroom?
It actually looks like seaweed…
What is its NAME ?
thanks,
Noel
Hi Noel, I used white and black china mushroom fungus. Have a great day ^^
I usually hear that called “wood ear” mushroom, and it is labeled that in the Asian grocers I visit. The other, dried Chinese mushrooms were in a package labeled “shiitake”(in Japanese) and “Dried Mushroom” in English, with a recipe written in Chinese on back.
Hi, I use “wood ear” mushroom, one side is black and other is white colour. Have a great day ^^
When you mention Chicken powder, is that like a dried chicken soup base?
Hi Kay, yes, like chicken bouillon/ stock. Thank you for watching. Have a great day
