Hi Kristy, is depending on the recipe, some recipes can’t use corn starch instead of wheat starch. Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you and your family
Hi Maria!
I love all you’re recipes! Thanks so much for all of your hard work. I’ve been wanting to learn a lot of Chinese dishes. My family grew up in the Philippines and migrated to America, so for me, I’ve been having trouble.
You’re YouTube channel and webpage are truly a lifesaver so thanks so much for sharing all your recipes!
I am just wondering. For this recipe is it possible to substitute the wheat starch with tapioca starch or potato starch? Right now I don’t have wheat starch. I only have potato starch and tapioca starch. If I can’t substitute, it’s ok too
Thanks again!
Ashley

My uncle bought me some 煎堆 bringing it down from China to Hong Kong. I was in HK on Christmas vacation. So I told my wife I will be bringing it back to the states. she love to make pastries and pancakes, so I found your recipe on Youtube and sent it to her. I hope she can find wheat starch in Los Angeles. We’ll look for it in Chinese supermarket.
Thank you for your recipe.
Hi Vincent,
